General Recommendations

Keep in mind that all components are important.
Try to choose a steel case (not aluminium)
Think about In and Out air stream and case space for a nice global cooling.
Think about a good CPU cooling solution even without overclocking. Intel ones are pretty bad.
Think about Raid system with Sata or SSD disk for high disk performances.

64 bit Operating Systems

If you apply a patch to the vvvv.exe you can use up to 4GB of Ram on 64-Bit systems. Just get yourself a copy of Microsofts imagecfg.exe, place it into the vvvv directory, open up the commandline and run the following:

 Imagecfg -l vvvv.exe

alternate method to apply the patch to vvvv.exe

download masmdl install
copy the vvvv.exe to C:\masm32\bin
open up the commandline and run the following:

 C:\masm32\bin\editbin /LARGEADDRESSAWARE vvvv.exe
