IP Problem

No matter what IP I set, vvvv’s IP-node always outputs 127.0.0.1.
I had this problem in the past but forgot how to solve it…

can you post here what you get when you type:
ipconfig /all
in a dos box?!

i think the problem is that on pcs with multiple networkcards the ip node only returns the ip of the first card. not sure if you can swap cards somehow in the systemsettings…

I cannot post it because the system is not connected to the internet.
But it’s a single pc with a single network card, that’s for sure.
Oh, and I’m using beta12 because my patch (unfortunately a huge one) doesn’t run on beta13 for unknown reasons.

rightclick in the dosbox, selekt “markieren/select”. then select the whole text and paste it in a text file -> memorystick…

if you are using expr nodes they could be the reason for the patch not working in beta13. i am after that.

here you are:

Windows-IP-Konfiguration

so…what is the tunneladapter pseudo interface thing? how about disabling/uninstalling/removing that via the network options? maybe that interferes with the ipnode?

I have no idea where this crap comes from.
To me tweaking network settings in windows feels like thinking about quantum mechanics when you are drunk…

ouright.
open explorer and locate the “Netzwerkumgebung”. rightclick “eigenschaften”. there you may find the tunneladapter. rightclick to remove it and pray…(on your own risk (the prayers))

also it may be a hardwareinterface which you might be able to find and deaktivate in systemsettings>devicemanager.

Oh dear… found out what’s wrong.
That stupid thing just needed to be connected to something… just something.
I made a direct connection to my old mac laptop and… everything worked fine.
I could have plugged it into a piece of cheese I guess and it would have been enough to calm that retarded system down…

the cheese makes definitely more sense than my humble efforts. glad we can close here.

The ‘Teredo Tunneling Interface’ is meant to connect to the IPv6 internet, and is useless if the machine isn’t connected to the ‘normal’ internet (It comes with Vista by default but it’s probably also available as an update for XP). Removing it shouldn’t break anything, but then again having it there shouldn’t break anything either.
