HowTo MySQL

Getting started

Before you can make use of the MySQL-nodes you of course must have access to a MySQL-database. This database can be on your local computer, in a LAN or somewhere in the depth of the internet. If you do not have access yet, the easiest thing would be setting up a mysql database (server) on a local computer.

First of all you have to download the MySQL-Server installer, which can be obtained at MySQL.com. Note that there two different flavours of the server. You should go for the "MySQL Community Server" which is free of charge. The MySQL-nodes were tested with server-version 4.16 (Windows and Suse Linux) but should also work with versions > 4.16. If you try other versions and stumble across some bugs please post your findings to the vvvv-bug-forum.
